The Mackworth head-camera, when worn by children
watching TV, has revealed that their eyes follow, not the
actions, but the reactions. The eyes scarcely deviate from the
faces of the actors, even during scenes of violence. This head-
camera shows by projection both the scene and the eye
movement simultaneously. Such extraordinary behavior is
another indication of the very cool and involving character of
this medium.
On the Jack Paar show for March 8, 1963, Richard Nixon
was Paared down and remade into a suitable TV image. It turns
out that Mr. Nixon is both a pianist and a composer. With sure
tact for the character of the TV medium, Jack Paar brought
out this pianoforte side of Mr. Nixon, with excellent effect.
Instead of the slick, glib, legal Nixon, we saw the doggedly
creative and modest performer. A few timely touches like this
